It’s Thursday and therefor time to put a spotlight on the second guild this week. This time Compendium – A republic guild focusing on both PVP and PVE took the time to answer our question. Enjoy the read:Where did your guild’s name come from? I love unique and uncommon words that sound really catchy. The word Compendium has several meanings, but the meaning I like to think of is “an inventory or gathering” – in this case a gathering of quality gamers that are share common interests and goals for The Old Republic. 737328
Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentence description of your guild?
Compendium is a tight-knit, family style guild and we’re looking to have a small-medium sized group of core during our existence in The PvE and PvP activities but do not role-playing. We offer a great social environment through several different mediums such as our own guild website, Teamspeak 3 server, Facebook page, and Youtube channel.
How did your guild come about?
A small group of Bioware + Star Wars, how could we resist getting together and forming a solid group of friendly, quality players?
What kind of play style do you focus on? PvE, PvP, RP:
We want to split our time between PvE progression and participating in PvP combat. To us it’s important for our to get to know each other and work as a team, so we’d like our to level up in small groups and run Flashpoints with each other. We will be conducting weekend raiding on Friday and Saturday nights, with Sunday nights not being off the table if it’s needed for progression. For PvP we plan to organize guild-run warzones, and we will participate in open-world combat as much as possible since we’re going to be based on a PvP server. The only thing Compendium doesn’t offer is a role-playing environment.
What is your guild set up? How do you run your guild?
Compendium is run by its leader and a small group of officers that are here to help run essential guild operations, such as managing our guild website, Teamspeak 3 server, Facebook page, and Youtube channel, and to give advice to our . We oversee day to day guild set-up is explained more in the ranking system.
How serious do you play and/or run the guild?
We’re a casual-moderate guild when it comes to playtime. We ask that our put an average of 10-20 hours per needed into running the guild. We’re absolutely determined to make Compendium the best possible place for the casual-moderate gamer to call home.
Do you have ranks or a certain hierarchy in your guild?
We have a leadership rank structure built for our . Leadership postions- which are non-officer positions that our are able to apply for- will allow who want to put extra time and effort into the guild to give back to fellow guild by sharing their knowledge and expertise. These leadership positions include Class Leader, PvP Leader, Raid Leader, Crafting Leader, and Public Relations Leader. Each leadership position requires that the member specialize in a specific aspect of the game. can only hold one leadership position. Additional information about our leadership rank structure can be found on our website.
Why did you choose the Republic?
Democracy, albeit its flaws, has brought more freedom to any race or group of people than any other political system in the known universe. Republic PvP guilds is also staggeringly low when compared to the volume of Sith PvP guilds, so we’d like to even the odds.
Why do you run a guild?
My friends and I have been craving for a new MMO to play since WoW has really lost its flavor. When we found out about The Old Republic we knew we wanted to create a guild for people that share the same type of mindset and ideals that we do. Helping lead a gaming community is a blast.
How do you approach Raid Planning?
We ultimately decided that we wanted to be a weekend raiding guild. A couple of factors went into this. First off, we have in different time zones across North America, and didn’t want living in a non-Eastern time zone to be negatively affected by a time difference. The second reason is that all of our are either currently in college or have jobs, so scheduling during the week could get really hectic. We’re going to have a roster for interested in participating in specific Operations. We also have a few raid leader positions that will be able to apply for when the time comes so they’ll be able to help out with leading raids.
Are you always open for new recruits or do you want to keep a certain guild size?
We plan on capping our member count at about 50 unique , with friends and family being an exception to the member cap. The reason we’re implementing this hard cap is because we’re looking for quality players, not quantity. We want our to feel like they’re unique and that their contributions are noticed by their fellow guild , instead of just being another number.
Age Requirement?
We are an 18+ guild. Friends and family are exceptions to the age requirement. Our goal is to create a mature, friendly gaming atmosphere for adults.
Guild size?
As of right now our member count is 16. We’re halfway to our soft member cap before launch.
What makes your guild stand out from everyone else? What makes your guild unique?
The concept of having an enormously successful small-medium sized guild that excels in nearly guide it in the direction that they would like to.
How do you spend your time until release? Do you know each other in real life or do you spend a lot of time on forums?
Several of our know each other in real life, but the majority of us talk to each other on our forums, Teamspeak 3 server, and play a variety of games with one another.
What Other Games are you currently playing as a guild?
Our guild currently s League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, and Starcraft 2, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 as primary games until The playing a host of other games if there’s a demand for it. are free to suggest games they’d like to play to add to our list of ed games.

One last question, if there was one thing you could ask the Devs to include, what would it be?
I’d ask them to remove the current rail shooter space combat mini-game they have and actually dedicate time to making interesting space combat. The space combat to be developed.
